AIPA’s Statement on the Voice to Parliament

AIPA acknowledges that we are at the precipice of some momentous change as a nation with a national dialogue about the voice, sovereignty and the Uluru Statement of the Heart. AIPA respects all opinions of its members regarding the upcoming Voice to Parliament referendum.  AIPA understands that it can be a difficult time making a decision for many reasons and that we encourage you all to support each other during this time.  We wish to share publicly that AIPA supports the Voice to Parliament, understanding it to be the first step in developing a mechanism for decision-making partnerships between all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and all levels of government.  AIPA supports the self determination of Australian First Nations peoples.
