Tanja Hirvonen - Approved area of practice - Clinical Psychology


Tanja completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a second Major in Human Resource Management and Honours at the University of Southern Queensland.  Tanja completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology with James Cook University.  Tanja wrote her dissertation around the Stigma of Suicide in Australia.

Professional Experience / Expertise

Tanja is a Clinical Psychologist and has had up to six years of working in psychology fields.  Tanja is currently working at the Centre for Remote Health as the Mental Health Academic.  Tanja also works at EASA on evenings and alternate weekends to provide EAP counselling supports to people in the workforce.

Tanja is interested in Indigenous Psychology, rural and remote practice, suicide prevention, positive psychology, mental health issues and Indigenous employment.  Tanja is passionate about rural and remote concerns and the equity of mental health services for people in remote areas.

Awards / Recognition

Tanja was a Valedictorian at the University of Southern Queensland Graduation - Science Department.
