Tanja Hirvonen

Qualifications

Tanja completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a second Major in Human Resource Management and Honours at the University of Southern Queensland.  Tanja completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology with James Cook University.  Tanja wrote her dissertation around the Stigma of Suicide in Australia.

Professional Experience / Expertise

Tanja is a registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist Registrar has had up to five years of working in psychology fields.  Tanja is soon to complete endorsement to become a Clinical Psychologist.  Tanja is currently working at Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT), investigating the benefits of trauma informed care and the Centre for Remote Health as the Mental Health Academic.

Tanja is interested in Indigenous Psychology, rural and remote practice, positive psychology, mental health issues and Indigenous employment.  Tanja is passionate about rural and remote concerns and is a member of the APS Rural, Remote and Regional Advisory Group on behalf of AIPA.

Awards / Recognition

Tanja was a Valedictorian at the University of Southern Queensland Graduation - Science Department.
